Larry Beau Give arms, shine light
Larry Beau began songwriting on the Dingle Peninsula in 2002. He has produced four albums to date-PeepShow Stars 2005, I Dream of Tiger Rose 2009, William The Brave 2011, The Sundance Vagabonds 2014 .
The songs from Larry Beau's 4th album-The Sundance Vagabonds were composed on a journey from east to west coast America in 2011-2012. The project was inspired by Peregrine White, the first born to the Pilgrims when they
berthed The Mayflower at the tip of The Cape in 1620. Written in the folk sing-along tradition, the song lines feature Immigrants, Seafarers, Pilgrims, Hobos, Cowboys, Beggars and the underdogs of society. Themes of hope, love and survival, serenade throughout. The album was recorded live on the Jeanie Johnston Famine Ship.
Special guests on the album include Sinead Cusack and Steve Wall We are all born Pilgrims, nomads of the heart, bound by soul, sacrificed to choice and circumstance, but gifted by a mystic breath called Spirit. Some are lucky enough to be welcomed into swaddling cradles, from a gene pool primed with perfect teeth and bone refine, and minds designed for reason. Others are dragged up half accidentally with a wild and raggle-taggle kind of love. Some poor souls are dropped by the stork close to the edge of the cracks and crevices, into the wounds of a wretched society. Some torn between vice and virtue, and others, haunted misfits with the marvelous spirit of a life worth singing for.
